Tenerife: Urbex & Nature Roadtrip

January 2020

Photo-report from a roadtrip around the surreal paradise island of Tenerife focused on exploring some of its stunning nature and places lost to time.

In addition to doing some great diving and randomly becoming a part of a major local festival, there is much more to Tenerife than the parties and beaches.

One of those things (and probably the major reason anybody goes to Tenerife) is its magnificent unspoilt nature, fascinating tropical flora perched upon dramatic peaks crowned by Mt. Teide (3,718m), the largest volcano in Canary islands which makes it also the tallest mountain of Spain. To reach the summit is not difficult, but since only few dozens of people are allowed each day, you need to get permits months in advance - a feat that we luckily accomplished and managed to get to the very top.

Tenerife is also paradise for dedicated urban explorers, with plethora of abandoned hotels, wharfs and dozens of other gems. With a pinch of luck and dedication we managed to track few of them down, and the rewards we found are beyond words. Have a look for yourselves below.
