Journey Four / Chapter 3

Costa Rica

August 2021

Travelling up the tropical paradise Costa Rica south to north and exploring its beautiful and diverse jungles, forests, beaches and towns.

From Corcovado National Park, an amazingly diverse jungle on the Osa Peninsula in the south of Costa Rica, to which whole chapter was dedicated, we continue our travels northwards along the Pacific Coast. First we head to Manuel Antonio Nation Park, another beautiful jungle full of fascinating wildlife and spectacular beaches.

From there, we head along the Sutfers coast through surfing towns such as Uvita, Dominical and Jaco. We head all the way to Tamarindo on the northern end of the country, not that far from the Guatemalan border, where we spend a few days before heading back inland.

In the central mountains we first head up to the Cloud Forest Biological Reserve, a very unique ecosystem high in the clouds. Then we continue towards the expansive Lake Arenal and the dominant Arenal Volcano next to it. Ultimately through the adventure town La Fortuna we reach the nation's capital San Jose.
